It’s that time of year again. And this year, i’m happy to have been asked to co-curate the show. As usual, a fantastic selection of work has made it into London Independent Photography‘s 23rd annual exhibition. The standard of much of the work & its presentation is extremely high. Pop along and take a look – its at the Strand Gallery in London from 18-29th October.

I’ve been working with Green Door Films filming some slo-mo sequences for Kasabian’s ‘Switchblade Smiles’ (above), GDF also worked on the promo piece for their upcoming O2 gigs… Just check out that opening overhead pan shot…:)

I’ve also recently been working on the new Guy Ritchie feature ‘Sherlock Holmes 2′ with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. Filming finished in Greenwich last week and the movie is due to open on October 31st in LA. Some teaser footage is here. It was fantastic to get to work on such a big, well-oiled feature production.

Presenting Instantia, the degree show for this year’s UWL MA Photography students. Having been through the course myself, I was really honoured to have been asked to curate this years show at the PM gallery in Ealing, London. There’s some fine work on display by a number of emerging and established photographers, and the show is shaping up to be a superb and exciting showcase for these artists work in a prestigious London gallery.

The show runs from 21 Sept to 15 Oct at the PM Gallery and house, W5 5EQ; come down and have a look!

Take 107 contemporary photographers, including the likes of Elinor Carucci, Andrew Phelps, Vanessa Winship, Laura Pannack and Harry Borden, ask them to submit a title or instruction for the next photographer to respnd to, and after a few months you get The Chain, dreamt up and curated by UK curator Stuart Pilkington. Great fun!

REViewFinder

The Viewfinder Gallery is relaunching itself as an online gallery and hub for London-based fine art photography. I was interviewed by Kathleen Brey earlier this year for the ‘Non | Fiction’ show and this interview has been published in ReViewFinder 3, the third in a series of Blurb books published by the gallery.

UnRevealed show

I have some images from my Domestic Fables series in the forthcoming UnRevealed show at the Cafe Grove Gallery in Ealing. The show runs from 13th May 20111 to 2nd July and it includes some fantastic work from a number of UWL students and alumni. Stop by, have a look, eat, drink and see Ealing’s hippest Polish cafe.

I have a number of images from my Domestic Fables series in the upcoming Non|Fiction show at the Viewfinder gallery in London SW9. The show features some great work in what is one of London’s freshest, most intimate photography galleries. I’m pleased to be showing alongside some thought-provoking and exciting new work by Jonathan Illingworth, Rhiannon Adam, Gavin Mecaniques and Fiona Harvey.

The show open this Thursday 3rd March at 12noon and the Private View is later that evening 6-8pm. Hope to see some of you there!

…and continuing what has been a busy month for shows, I’m excited to reveal that I’m showing more work from my current project ‘It’s written all over your face’. The series is part of a show called ‘Amazing Grace’ along with 4 other talented photographers. The show is on at the Rag Factory, Heneage St, just off Brick Lane. Private view is next Thursday 28th Oct and runs until Sunday the 31st.

shoreditch show – ‘Parallels’

I’m pleased announce that I have some work showing at the Red Lion in Shoreditch from next week. The exhibition itself is also part of Photomonth, which launches at the end of this week – details can be found on http://2010.photomonth.org/

The show features work from the ‘Parallels’ project, a kind of photographic ‘chinese whispers’ in which a series of images were made in response to each other with the starting point a line from a Charles Bukowski novel. My contribution to the project was shot whilst I was in Budapest, and the collaborative nature of the project was great fun whilst I was away from London.

The show also doubles as the second annual show for the Shoreditch branch of London Independent Photography, and I also have two 24″x20″ prints from my recent series ‘Where I end and you begin’ for sale in the show.

And just a quick reminder that the TVU MA show ‘Close to you’ is still on at the PM gallery, Ealing, until October 2nd.
